San Diego Museums and Zoos

There are wonderful museums and zoos in the San Diego area.


San Diego Air and Space Museum

This field trip is very relevant given San Diego’s role in both Air and Space technologies.


San Diego Museum of Us

A very interesting anthropology museum that helps visitors of all ages understand the history of human development.  One thing to note is that as of this writing this museum is only open Wednesday through Sunday.



San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo has been a favorite attraction in San Diego for years.  The popularity of the zoo is based upon its pure size, research efforts, animal variety, quality of exhibits, and of course, their polar bear exhibit. Because of the size of the zoo, you might want to consider taking the bus tour to get a general overview of the park prior to going about visiting the zoo on foot.

San Diego Parks, Gardens, and Nature Experiences

There are several significant gardens including botanical gardens in the San Diego area. There are also incredible outdoor and nature experiences in San Diego.


San Diego Botanical Garden

This  is a large botanical garden located north of the City of San Diego.  San Diego Botancial garden includes an indoor conservancy and a children’s garden.

San Diego Theme Parks Field Trips with Educational Programs

Going to a San Diego theme park as a field trip is a memorable experience that students will never forget.

LEGOLAND California

Everyone loves LEGOS and this theme park is several attractions based on the world’s favorite toy.  We particularly recommend the Coast Cruise where you go on a boat and visit many LEGO areas.

SeaWorld

Aquarium and theme park in one.  The Sesame Street Bay of Play themed area is very popular with children and their coaster line up gets more impressive each year.   Animals on display include many sea turtles, countless varieties of fish,  an array of penguins, dolphins, orcas and countless other aquatic animals. One amazing ride at SeaWorld is the Emperor ride.  It has an amazing dive that rollercoaster enthusiasts will love.
